Steven L Smith

Steven L. Smith, 68 of Manson, passed away on Saturday February 3rd, 2024, at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, MN. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 9, 2024, at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Manson. Interment will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Manson. Steven was born in Fort Dodge on April 21st, 1955, to Stanley and Phyllis Smith.   He grew up in Fort Dodge, IA and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High.   He was united in marriage to Barbara Collmann on November 26th 1977 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manson.   Steve played the organ for St. Paul Lutheran Church where he was many times accompanied by Barb in a solo.  Steve retired from Farner Bocken in 2014 after 37 years.  He and Barb loved spending time in Arizona after retirement where Steve eventually joined as President of the board of their association.   He enjoyed golf and watching his Kansas City Chiefs.   He loved spending time with his family and friends, and mostly spending the time with his grandchildren.  

Steven is survived by his son Justin (Kimberly)  Smith of Jordan, MN; grandchildren Jackson, Aiden, Mason and Jaylie; his grand-dogs KC and Jersey; his sister-in-law Beth (Jim) Hudson of Pocahontas, IA; sister-in-law Mary Collmann of Des Moines, IA; nieces and nephews Sarah (Jared), Brian (Macy), Andy (Katie), and Aaron (Mariah) and numerous extended family and friends.   He was preceded in death by his loving wife and soulmate Barbara, parents Stanley and Phyllis  Smith, In-laws Rolland and Norma Collmann, and brother-in-law Bruce Collmann.
