Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Larson-Weishaar Funeral Home in Manson. Deborah Lynne Coon was born on April 19, 1962 to Charles and Susan (Barnes) Coon in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She grew up in Manson where she attended school and was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where she was confirmed. She graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1981 and it was there that she met Jeff Gilbert. They were united in marriage on June 7, 1980 and to this union they were blessed with four children, Amanda, Jamie, Amy and Amber. In 1983, they moved to Kersey, Colorado and later divorced. Debbie met Todd Brownlee in 1985 and they were blessed with a daughter, Sara. They were married and later divorced. In1997, Debbie moved her family back to Iowa to be closer to family.  On July 7, 2007, Debbie married the true love of her life, Jon Huntsinger at a private ceremony in Palmer, IA.  Debbie had worked at various jobs throughout the years, but her true passion was being a business owner. She was an amazing cook and loved to share her food through the many restaurants she owned through the years. Most recently she operated Eagle Lanes, owned/operated Cups-N-Cones, owned/operated Debbie’s Restaurant. She also opened a floral shop, Main Street Blooms, and operated that until she closed the doors to Debbie’s.

Debbie truly enjoyed doing anything outdoors with her family including camping, fishing, planting flowers, or creating a backyard oasis. She was very artistic and loved painting and crafting. She also enjoyed shooting pool, a craft she learned from her father. She always had a smile on her face, and she would always use her dry humor and sarcasm to make you laugh. You could always find her trying to help people that were in need and never expected anything in return. She loved animals and passed that down to her children. When her children were little there was never a time they didn’t have a house full of animals. She was extremely proud of her children and grandchildren and made sure to tell anyone that would listen how great they were.

Debbie is survived by her beloved husband, Jon; children Amanda (Tyler) Gutz of Pomeroy, IA, Jamie (Jenna) Gilbert of McCallsburg, IA, Amy Elsen of Manson, IA, Amber (Nathan) Lucht of Odebolt, IA, Sara (Darren) Bacon of Knoxville, IA; step-children Stephanie Huntsinger of Wessington, SD, Melissa (Nic) Hentges of West Minneapolis, MN, and Mallory (Dan) Held of Waconia, MN; 27 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter on the way; her father Charles Coon of Manson, IA; her siblings Patti (Kevin) Schoon of Manson, IA, Rob (Mechelle) Coon of Carter Lake, IA, and Joe Koster, of Manson, IA. She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father Susan and Gerald Koster; grandparents Harold & Charlotte Barnes and her mother and father-in-law Jim & Marilyn Huntsinger.
